Over the past 24 encounters between Nkana and Nkwazi, the 13-time Zambian champions have prevailed 11 times, while the High Flying Nkwazi football club has won 6 of those encounters.

The last encounter between these two teams took place in November 2023, with Nkwazi emerging registering a 3-1 scoreline at Woodlands Stadium.

At Nkwazi’s Edwin Imboela Stadium, Nkana, a struggling team, has won five times: in 2021, 2016, 2015, 2013, and 2011.

Saturday’s Week 27 fixture is yet one of those matches that Kalampa need to record a victory away from home in order to jump further away from the relegation zone.

Under the guidance of head coach Ian Bakala, their recent 0-0 draw at home against Prisons Leopard at home was a setback.

On the other hand, Nkwazi are heading into this fixture on the back of the 1-0 win against Mutondo Stars.

With a record of 11 wins, 8 draws, and 7 losses, totaling 41 points this season, they currently occupy the 5th position in the league standings.

Nkana has registered eight victories, six draws, and twelve losses in the 26 league games they have played thus far this season.

This performance this season has left them languishing in 13th place in the league standings, with just 30 points to their name.

Nkana might finish in the bottom four with a loss or even a draw in this match, which would put tremendous pressure on Bakala’s technical bench.

The 13-time league champions would receive much-needed momentum from a victory in Lusaka, which would send them to 33 points.
