Nkana FC have continued their strong run in the MTN Super League after securing their fifth consecutive win on Wednesday.
Mwenya Chipepo’s side defeated Nkwazi 0–1 at Edwin Imboela Stadium to remain unbeaten in 2026, thanks to Idriss Mbombo’s 63rd-minute goal. Nkwazi had a chance to level the scores after being awarded a penalty in the 74th minute when Leonard Makonga was judged to have fouled Lameck Manda.
Patrick Chooma went on to save Christopher Zulu’s penalty to secure Nkana’s victory.
The win left Nkana 11 points behind leaders Red Arrows, sitting in ninth position. They need only three points to move into the top four, provided the teams above them drop points, while Nkwazi slipped into the relegation zone.
Elsewhere, Kansanshi Dynamos moved out of the relegation zone with a 1–0 win over Zanaco, courtesy of a Francis Madiga goal in the 37th minute. The result lifted them one step above the bottom four, while the Bankers remained fourth with 28 points.

Leaders Red Arrows were held to a 1–1 draw by Mines United, who, despite the result, remained rock bottom of the standings with 13 points from 19 games. Davies Sinyinza and Albert Kangwanda scored the goals in each half.
FC Leopards also beat Kabwe Warriors 1–0 through a Wilmore Hatembo goal in the fifth minute. Despite the win, Leopards remained 19th in the standings with 15 points, while Warriors sit seventh with 27 points.
