Mutapa Sets Tone As Arrows Host Power In Crucial League Encounter

Red Arrows and Power Dynamos lock horns at Nkoloma Stadium in a high-stakes encounter that could shape the destiny of the title race.

A top-of-the-table clash awaits Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on Thursday when leaders Red Arrows host defending champions and second-placed Power Dynamos in a match that could have implications come the end of the season.

To put things in perspective, only one point separates the two teams; Arrows lead the charge with 39 points and have played two more games than Osward Mutapa’s men.

Arrows are determined not to hand the advantage to Power, who are looking to defend the title that they wrestled away from the Airmen last season.

Mutapa, a former Arrows technical advisor, is in the Power dugout and is aware of what a tough test the Kitwe side have going into the game.

“We have to know that it will be a tough game, but if we apply ourselves in the best way and take our chances, we should be victors at the end of the day, but it will not be an easy game,” Mutapa told his club media.

He said coming from a loss, Arrows will be looking to make things tough for Power.

Arrows are still reeling from a 2–1 defeat to George Lwandamina’s Nchanga Rangers and will be determined to avoid losing to another of their former coaches.

“We need to take our chances, we have to perform and the result is the most important,” Mutapa said.

He described the game as the most important game at the moment.

Power are also looking to avenge the 2–1 loss they suffered against Arrows on October 10 last year.

The Kitwe side has not beaten Arrows since the 4–0 win on December 10, 2022.
