Power Dynamos head coach Osward Mutapa has called on his players to recover from their 2-0 loss to Zesco United on Saturday.

The defeat not only ended their five-game winning streak but also saw them drop from the top of the Zambian Super League table to fourth place. With a midweek clash against Napsa Stars looming, Mutapa believes it’s time for his team to step up.

“We lost, yes we are down, but we need to stand up and be counted,” Mutapa said.

Power Dynamos had been leading the league standings heading into Week 12 after an impressive run of five consecutive victories. However, Mutapa admitted that the streak fell short of maintaining their grip on the top spot.

“Winning five consecutive games wasn’t enough; it moved us to fourth,” he stated.

Facing a tight fixture schedule, the team will play three games in eight days. Mutapa acknowledged the challenges but expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to handle the demanding workload.

“Every team, that’s the way they are going to play, so it’s how you manage your players. Three games in eight days, it’s too much, but I know some are able to cope depending on fitness levels and energy level,” he said.

Power Dynamos will host Napsa Stars at Arthur Davies Stadium on Wednesday, eager to bounce back to winning ways.
