Konkola Blades are set to keep coach Beston Chambeshi at the club, with his contract coming to an end this month.
Chambeshi joined Blades in November 2023 and managed to guide the team from the National Division One to the Super League.
Last season, the Nkana legend managed to help the team survive relegation, finishing comfortably ninth on the log with 48 points.
In 2024, Chambeshi extended his stay at Konkola Blades, granting him a stay until the just-ended season.
Sources close to the coach and the club have both confirmed that the intention is to keep the legendary coach at Konkola Stadium.
“Talks have been held,” the source said. “The good thing is that the coach is willing to stay so that is positive.”
The source said if all goes well, Chambeshi will be issued a new contract soon so that the club can begin to work on the pre-season plans.
“We have a new season coming up in September; there is no much time i think soon the issue will be sorted and the coach will begin to plan for pre-season,” the source said.
