Red Arrows winger Ackim Mumba has said his target for next season is to provide more assists and work on his goal-scoring rate.

The forward was instrumental in the Red Arrows’ campaign last season, when they clinched the ABSA Cup and finished second in the MTN Super League.

Mumba scored three goals and provided the most assists (14) in both the MTN Super League and ABSA Cup.

With the Airmen back in training, Mumba spoke to BolaNews on his aspirations for the 2026/2027 transition league.

Mumba said he wants to continue with the consistency that he showed last season.

“The off-season was okay, and I rested well. We are back in training. My target for next season is to do more from what I was able to do last season,” Mumba said.

Mumba said he is planning on improving and doubling his assist record from what he provided in the past two seasons.

The speedy winger also noted that he needs to work on his finishing aspect in order to help the team score more goals.

“As we start preparing for next season, I’m currently focused on beating my assist record for the last 2 seasons and playing all the games in the season. I want to be consistent throughout the season,” Mumba said.

“I think one aspect I will be working on next season is scoring goals because everything else has been good.”
