Ilunga (right) signed a one-year contract with Mighty from Red Arrows football club, the eventual Super League winners, to become a member of the Legendary Club.

Tresor Ilunga, a Congolese winger for Mufulira Wanderers, left the team before the start of the new Zambian Super League season since his contract had expired.

At the start of the 2023–2024 season, Ilunga signed a one-year contract with Mighty from Red Arrows football club, the eventual Super League winners, to become a member of the Legendary Club.

He helped Mighty finish in seventh place with 43 points during his time there, which allowed the team to avoid relegation.

In his 22 league games with Mufulira Wanderers, he contributed six goals and six assists, making him an invaluable member of the team.

The quick-witted, gifted winger was amazing to see and played a key role in the team’s promotion to the Super League.

Mighty announced the departure of the Congolese winger through a media statement.

“Despite efforts to secure Tresor’s continued presence with an improved two-year extension offer, both the player and his agent have opted to pursue opportunities elsewhere.

“Mufulira Wanderers football Club regrets to announce the departure of Tresor Ilunga from the club at the conclusion of the contract,” read part of the statement.
