Mines United wins first league match, Zesco United lose to Nkwazi

Mighty Mufulira Wanderers defeated Choma based side, Green Eagles 1-0 nil at their home ground, at Shinde Stadium.

Week 14 of the Zambian Premier League produced fascinating results with struggling Mines United registering their first victory of the 2025-26 campaign.

Davy Sinyinza scored the all important goal in the 52nd minute for Mines United to record a hard fought win over sensational Zanaco at President’s Stadium.

Elsewhere, Nkwazi stunned Zesco United by a goal to nil away at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday. A George Ndhlovu 28th minute goal, was all High Flying Nkwazi needed to be victorious in Ndola.

At REIZ Arena , home side NAPSA picked up a convincing 2-0 nil victory over visiting side, Kabwe Warriors. Evans Kayombo and Timothy Sichalwe were the scorers for NAPSA in the 13th and 82nd minute.

At Edwin Imboela Stadium, the visiting Kansanshi Dynamos played to a 1-all draw against ten-men Green Buffaloes.

In the 59th minute, Willy Bokingo gave Buffaloes the lead, with Martin Njovu equalizing for Kansanshi in the 66th minute.

Speaking to the press, assistant coach Dennis Makinka expressed disappointment with the result.

“We had chances, but we couldn’t take them. After they went one man down, our tempo dropped. We expected to push much higher, but instead it went down.”
