Following Zesco United’s lackluster performance in the 2025–26 Super League season, club chairman Patricia Musiya has urged the technical bench led by Emmanuel Siwale to put in extra effort to boost performance.

The former champions are 12th on the log, just one point above the relegation zone, after a slow start to the season that has seen them collect 11 points from a possible 27.

In the Confederation Cup, Zesco are at the bottom of their group, having lost their two opening games to Egyptian sides Zamalek and Al Masry. This poor start has not gone down well with the club’s top brass, who are calling for improvements.

“We are not sitting in the best place,” Musiya said at a briefing on Friday.

She added, “Out of the nine games we have played, we have won three, drawn two, and lost four. This places us in the 12th position with only 11 points.”

Before throwing a challenge to Siwale to improve results.

Siwale is now head coach after serving as acting coach since Lwandamina left last year.

“With this status, we seek to work extra hard to reclaim the top spot,” she said.

Meanwhile, under-pressure Napsa Stars coach Sipho Mumbi has described this weekend’s fixture against Kabwe Warriors as a big game.

“They [Warriors] have done very well; they are coming from a win, so the confidence levels are very high on their side…” Mumbi told the club media.

He added that his team, coming off a 1–0 loss to Nkana, is going through a difficult phase.
