Mines United Thumps Green Eagles, Nkana Records Third Straight League Win

FC MUZA now have to wait for the result between Zanaco FC and Zesco United to know their ABSA Cup fate.

At Choma Independence Stadium, on Saturday Mines United silenced hosts, Green Eagles 1 nil to frustrate Tonke Twende from qualifying for the 2026 ABSA Cup competition.

Patrick Simwinga scored the solitary goal for Mines United in the 12th minute to punish the Choma based side coached by Perry Mutapa.

At the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu stadium, Kabwe Warriors defeated visiting FC MUZA by a goal to nil. David Obashi gave Warriors maximum points, five minutes before halftime. FC MUZA now have to wait for the result between Zanaco FC and Zesco United to know their ABSA Cup fate.

Six teams have sealed their ABSA Cup slots and these include; Power Dynamos, Red Arrows, Nchanga Rangers, Zanaco FC.

Others are Kabwe Warriors and Mufulira Wanderers.

In the relegation battle, 13 times Zambian champions, Nkana scored late in the 94th minute, through Dave Daka to defeat Kansanshi Dynamos at Kitwe stadium on Saturday.

The victory for Kalampa over the Mabanga Boys is the third straight win for Nkana, to jump to 13th on the log with 19 points from 17 league matches so far, two slots above the relegation zone.
