After his side convincingly defeated Elite League debutants, Mines United at Nkoloma stadium on Saturday, Red Arrows head coach Chisi Mbewe said his boys deserved to win because they prepared adequately for the match.
Three times League champions, Arrows registered an emphatic 4-1 victory over Mines United in their first league fixture for the new season.
Saddam Yusuf Phiri, scored the first hattrick of the season before substitute Albert Kangwanda sealed the victory for the home side.
The Airmen dominated possession during both halves, showing they determination to collect silverware this season.

In a post match interview, Mbewe praised the team for playing according to instructions.
“This is the result that we wanted, and I think coming into this game we knew that it was not going to be easy for us playing a team that has already played the league. Otherwise, the most important thing is we planned and we were ready for this game. A good result for us; we have played according to the way we planned,” Mbewe said.
“We’re Ready To Lift The Title” – Mbewe.
“I think it’s a good motivation even to the players because in the first game we scored four goals, which is a good sign for us, and it’s a morale booster even to the team going forward,” added the coach.
The Red Arrows boss believes the team is ready to lift the league title.
“Every season, Red Arrows, we set targets and goals so that we give ourselves positive pressure, and our targets are to win the league, to participate again in the ABSA, and to try to win the ABSA,” expressed Mbewe.
Up next, Arrows will face city rivals NAPSA Stars, who drew nil-all away at Mufulira Wanderers, this coming weekend.
