Super league giants Nkana are set to announce the appointment of Nkwazi trainer Dennis Makinka as their assistant coach to fill the void left by Sipho Mumbi who has moved to Napsa Stars.
Ian Bakala has identified Makinka who recently completed his Confederation of African Football (CAF) A license in South African as his assistant to replace Mumbi.
Last season, Makinka was elevated to the position of head coach, taking over from Oswald Mutapa who had moved to then defending champions Power Dynamos.
Having helped Nkwazi to a sixth-place finish, it was expected that he will lead the team in the upcoming season but the club hierarchy has been taken aback by his decision to leave.
Sources from both clubs have revealed to Bolanews that Makinka is excited at the opportunity to work with Bakala. It is claimed that the coach is already in Chipata with Nkana.
Nkana, who finished ninth last season with 43 points are in Chipata for a 10-day pre-season camp to prepare for the upcoming season.
Nkana are likely to make an announcement soon while Nkwazi are also preparing to reveal who will lead the club going into next season.
