FC MUZA head coach Lameck Banda thinks his side still has a chance to make it to the 2025 ABSA Cup competition, with two matches before the Cup qualification deadline.

In their first-ever ABSA Cup final at Nkoloma Stadium, FC MUZA fell to Forest Rangers 2-0 during the 2023 season.

FC MUZA advanced to the ABSA Cup semifinals in 2024 but lost 2-1 to Kabwe Warriors.

In a Week 15 league fuxture, MUZA and Nkwazi played out to a scoreless draw at Nakambala Stadium over the weekend.

With 15 league games played, the Mazabuka-based team, the Elegant Dynamites, have drew six times, won five, and lost four.

Speaking in an interviews, Banda admitted with 21 points, and ranked ninth in the log, there is pressure on the team to qualify.

“The pressure is there, but there is nothing we can do apart from keeping on pushing because we must push and see how best we can play the next two games. Our chances of qualifying for ABSA are still there,”said Banda.

According to the former Lumwana Radiants manager, they can defeat their rivals if they prepare effectively for the upcoming match.

FC MUZA has turned their focus to their crucial match away in Kitwe, to take on the confident Nkana.

This tie comes a week following their 1-2 victory over rivals Power Dynamos in a Kitwe derby at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa stadium.

“Nkana are doing fine, but it goes down to planning. We just have to plan very well and hopefully we get a positive result, “added Banda.
