On Wednesday, Nkwazi FC jumped out of the relegation zone, after a 2-1 win over NAPSA Stars in a Week 28 fixture played at Edwin Imboela.
Carlos Kaoma’s goal in the 5th minute and Adrian Chama’s header in the 70th minute gave the home side a resounding victory, pushing High Flying Nkwazi to 14th with 30 points.
However, the race for survival is getting hotter as most teams placed in the bottom are fighting to avoid being demoted to lower division National League.
Speaking in an interview, Nkwazi head coach Masauso Tembo expressed satisfaction with the team’s result.
“It’s a good result, three points. I think we haven’t done well at home; it’s been long since we won at home, and the talk we had, if we look at the position we are at in the league, it’s not a very good position. I talked to the boys, and I’m happy with the win,” he said.
Meanwhile, Nkwazi will next face league leaders, and defending champions, Power Dynamos next week.

“It’s not yet over; we still have a lot of work to do. I have to talk to my players to have the right attitude; we continue with the right attitude. Am very happy to see Command coming to support us; they just have to motivate us more. We really have to fight; it’s not yet over,” added Tembo.
