In a Military derby, Red Arrows and Green Eagles will battle it out in a Week 15 fixture of the Zambian Premier League at Choma Independence Stadium on Sunday.
Before the 2025 AfCON break last December, Red Arrows lost 3-1 to Zesco United in Ndola at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
That defeat pushed Red Arrows into second position with 31 points from 14 matches played so far.
Defending champions, Power Dynamos lead the table with 32 points.
Speaking to the club’s media ahead of the match, Red Arrows head coach, Chisi Mbewe said the his side is looking forward to the match.
“I think I would start by saying it’s a tricky game against Green Eagles in Choma, but this is a new year with a renewed resolution and new goals, and I think the preparations have been going on so well. The team looks ready, and everyone is looking forward to the first game of the new year,” he said.
“It’s a new year; we just need to change the narrative. In Choma we know it’s not going to be an easy game. I think we know that Eagles are fighting to participate in the ABSA; we are also looking for the three points,” said Mbewe.
A win for the Airmen will see them dethrone Power Dynamos from the top of the log.
“So the most important thing is we remain focused and ensure we go to Choma with a positive attitude and mindset to grab the three points that are needed,” noted the coach.
