Midfielder Abel Kanyamuna has described his move to Nkana FC, the Kitwe giants as the fulfillment of a long-held ambition, saying joining the record MTN Super League champions was an opportunity he could not turn down.
Kanyamuna is among three players Nkana have signed from Atletico Lusaka ahead of the 2026/27 season. Others are defender Simon Chipanama and midfielder Francis “Bubu” Mutalange, as the club continues to strengthen its squad.
Speaking to the club media, the 24-year-old said he is delighted to sign for Kalampa.
“It really feels great and exciting because it is one of the biggest clubs in Zambia, and it is such an opportunity and honor to play for such a club,” Kanyamuna said.
“I chose Nkana FC because it is one of the clubs that I love and admire. It is something that I have always waited for because Nkana had already called for me to go there. Last time it did not happen, but I am really excited and happy that now it has happened and I can start this new journey with Nkana.”

Kanyamuna previously featured for Portuguese side CD Trofense and Italian Serie A outfit Cagliari Calcio.
The midfielder believes his experience will help him contribute positively to the club’s ambitions.
“I think it will bring a lot because I promise to give hard work, discipline, and sacrifice for the badge to just see Nkana again up there, lifting the cup and all those things,” he said.
Chipanama has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, while Kanyamuna and Mutalange have also penned two-and-a-half-year deals, with the latter’s contract including an option for a further year.
