Since returning to the MTN Super League from Spartanii Sportul, Zambian international Albert Kangwanda has scored in four consecutive games for Red Arrows this season.

He became the first player to achieve this feat when he netted the second goal for the Airmen in their 3-1 victory over FC Leopards during Week Eight at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

Kangwanda is now the second-highest scorer in the league with four goals, trailing only Christopher Itaka of Nchanga Rangers.

His fine form comes as no surprise to his coach, Chisi Mbewe, who praised his consistency and work ethic. “I think even in training, it’s showing. It’s not something that is just coming by fluke,” he said.

Mbewe added: “He just needs to keep working extra hard. He needs to continue being focused.”

The two-time Super League–winning coach also urged Kangwanda to maintain his scoring momentum.

“It’s something that we are even seeing in training. He’s working so hard, and that’s the reason why he’s even scoring, because the most important thing is to continue encouraging him and to let him know that he just needs to remain focused, because there are a lot of games to come,” Mbewe said.

Red Arrows will face Nkwazi in their Week Nine fixture, with Mbewe banking on Kangwanda to help his side extend their unbeaten run and close the gap on league leaders Zanaco.

Arrows sit second in the standings with 17 points from seven games, just one behind the Bankers, who lead with 18 points after eight matches.
