On Saturday, Green Eagles continued with their unbeaten run with 1-nil win against Roan United, a straight third victory in Stream B of the MTN-FAZ transitional league, in front of their home crowd at Choma Independence Stadium.
Eagles have taken command of Stream B with 9 points from three matches with two clean sheets.
It looked like the Week-four fixture will end goalless but Chaniza Zulu had other plans to keep Eagles soaring.
The Perry Mutapa drilled Zambia National Service-sponsored side went into this encounter high on confidence, having won their last two fixtures, a 1-4 win over Mufulira Wanderers and 0-1 another away win at Zesco United.
Prior to this fixture, Mutapa put behind the successive wins by urging his players not to underrate Stylish Roan United, as he demanded a win from his lads to cheer home supporters.

Mutapa made a single change to the side that defeated Zesco United, bringing in Collins Sikombe to replace Penias Tonga. The first half did not produce any goals from either side.
In the second half, the home side kept knocking, but Roan United defended well. However, Chaniza Zulu put Tonke Tweende ahead with his strike 14 minutes before regulation time.
The slender victory for the Choma-based side has pushed the Choma-based side to nine points, a perfect start to the campaign.
For Roan United, this is their first defeat from three matches on their return to the Super League.
Reacting to the result, Mutapa noted the need to secure maximum points considering the short transitional league.
“Yes, the transition league is very short, so we have to make use of the games in the first round. So, congratulations to the lads for winning this game; this is what we wanted. We wanted the three points,” Mutapa said.
He praised for his players for executing the technical game plan to collect full points at home.
”Seeing what we practice in training replicated on the pitch shows the great mental strength of this team. The players’ mindset right now is excellent..Credit also goes to the technical staff, our substitutions were purely tactical and paid off” he added.
