Following Zanaco’s 2-1 victory over visiting Kabwe Warriors in a Week 30 fixture match at Sunset Stadium, team assistant coach Henry Banda is hoping for their players to remain consistent in the last four matches of the season.
The result has seen the bankers climb to 8th on the log table with 39 points from 30 matches played so far.
Robert Siazi and Isaac Shamujompa scored in the 10th and 47th minutes respectively for the home side before Aka Mwachiaba’s 79th minute consolation goal for the visitors.
After the match, Banda told the media that the win was a good motivation for the team after recording a string of poor results.
“It’s a good win for the team we have passed through a lot as a team we have not collected maximum points in the previous games so playing against warriors we needed this win to boost the morale of the players,”
“This game we needed to win so each, and everyone knew we needed to win this game. Every player was ready to push for 90 minutes, we just hope consistency will be there in the four games that are remaining,” said Banda.
The former Zanaco player also added that ZSL teams should watch out for the banker’s next season.
“Next season you will see a better Zanaco than what you have seen. We need to plan well against Green Eagles and make sure we get the maximum points,” concluded the coach.
