Zanaco football club head coach Numba Mumamba says his side must make amends for their defeat to Konkola Blades when they host NAPSA Stars in a Week-four MTN Super League Transitional League clash on Saturday.
The Bankers suffered a 3-2 defeat to Konkola Blades in their previous encounter, dropping maximum points at home, while NAPSA Stars head into the fixture unbeaten but are still searching for their first win after drawing their opening matches. The two sides will meet at Sunset Stadium.
Speaking ahead of the match, Mumamba acknowledged the challenge posed by NAPSA Stars, describing them as a side that has historically troubled his team.
“This is a very important fixture that we have against NAPSA tomorrow. It is a game that will be very exciting, looking at where we are coming from,” he said.
“We dropped maximum points at home against Konkola Blades, and we are playing NAPSA Stars, a team that has been a thorn in our flesh.”
He said his players are prepared for NAPSA Stars.
“This time around, we have to make amends by making sure that we change the narrative. We just have to be ready for them so that we fight on the pitch and collect the maximum points that we need,” he said.
Mumamba said the technical bench had encouraged the players to move forward and focus on the next assignment.
“It’s a short league” – Mumamba.
“The morale in the team is very high. We have encouraged the team after losing to Konkola Blades. They know what is expected of us, and they have shown that commitment in training. Everyone is looking forward to tomorrow’s (Saturday) encounter,” Mumba said.

He emphasized the need to collect all three points, given the short nature of the transitional league.
“It is very important not to drop points, looking at the league that we are in. It is a short league that we have, and that is why we have to make sure that we work hard on the pitch, especially when we are playing at home,” he said.
“We try by all means to collect the three points so that we are in check with the teams that are on top of the log.”
He also called on Zanaco supporters to turn up in numbers and rally behind the team, acknowledging that the defeat to Konkola Blades had disappointed them.
