Kabwe Warriors FC goalkeeper Allan Chibwe says every player is working hard to ensure that they take the club to the next level.
Chibwe recently joined Warriors, having been unattached since he left his boyhood club, Konkola Blades. He is now part of the Warriors side that is having a decent season in the top flight.
The five-time champions are second on the log with 44 points, just two behind leaders Zesco United with 30 points still left to play.
Quizzed about how he is finding competition against other renowned keepers like Mangani Banda and Scott Ngokene, Chibwe told Bolanews exclusively that the goal is to help the team achieve its targets.
“For me to join Kabwe Warriors, there are good goalkeepers that I have found. We are not competing because I believe we have the same goal of taking Kabwe Warriors to the next level.
“For me I don’t compete with them because they are the guys that I am working with day in day out, week in week out so we cannot be competing every day,” Chibwe said.
Meanwhile, Chibwe who last played for Chipolopolo on June 12, 2023, in the 3 – 0 loss to Kuwait says he is still eyeing a return to the national team.
“It is every football player’s dream to play for the nation, it is every sportsman’s dream to represent the nation…it is always a pleasure I think I have represented my nation in a couple of tournaments [games].
“The ambition to play for the national team will always be there, I always look forward to representing my nation as long as you have a platform at a club level, the chances and the opportunities will always come,” Chibwe said.
