The Orlando Pride have announced the transfer of Zambian forward Prisca Chilufya to Angel City FC in exchange for $50,000 in 2025 intraleague transfer funds and a 2025 international roster spot.
Confirming the move, Pride Vice President and Sporting Director Haley Carter praised Chilufya’s impact both on and off the pitch.
“Prisca has played an important role in the Club’s journey this season, both on and off the pitch,” said Carter. “We are thankful for her contributions and her positive influence on her teammates and staff this season. She will always be a part of the Pride family and we wish her continued success in the future.”
Chilufya joined the Pride ahead of the 2025 season from FC Juárez of Mexico’s Liga MX Femenil. During her time in Orlando, the Zambian international made 20 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist across all competitions.
Her first NWSL goal came on May 10 against North Carolina Courage, where she headed in a dramatic stoppage-time equalizer to secure a vital point. Her second goal arrived on August 3 in a 1–1 draw with Utah Royals, again rescuing a result with a well-timed strike in the 72nd minute. Chilufya also registered her first assist for the Pride during Concacaf W Champions Cup play, setting up Julie Doyle in a commanding 5–0 win over Chorrillo FC last month.
Reflecting on her move to Los Angeles, Chilufya expressed her excitement and gratitude.
“I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to join Angel City,” said Chilufya. “I feel as though I greatly align with the mission of the club and its core values, and can’t wait to contribute on and off the pitch. In addition, the culture here in LA is amazing and I admire the relationship that the club has built with the city. Volemos ACFC!”
Before moving to Orlando, Chilufya impressed with FC Juárez, scoring 14 goals in 48 appearances since 2023. She also had a brief but productive stint in Turkey with Fatih Karagümrük, netting four goals in seven matches in the TFF 1. Lig.
Chilufya’s move to Angel City FC marks a new chapter in her career as she joins one of the NWSL’s most dynamic clubs, ready to make her mark in Los Angeles both on and off the field.
