Zambian players abroad | Sakala nets eight in eight

Sakala scored a brace to take his tally to eight goals in his last eight games.

Kings Kangwa maintained his impressive start to 2026, scoring a goal as Hapoel Be’er Sheva drew 1-1 with Hapoel Haifa in the Israeli Premier League. With the ball fortuitously falling to him on the right side of the box, the midfielder struck the ball emphatically into the bottom corner in the 22nd minute.

He has now returned eight direct goal contributions in eight matches this year: five goals and three assists.

Fashion Sakala Jr., who has also been firing on all cylinders, since the beginning of the year netted a brace for Al Fayha, who edged Al Taawoun 3-2 in the Saudi Pro League. His pair of volleys took his tally to eight goals in his last eight games.

Chaiwa shines as Hibernian beat Celtic; Lubambo commits error in 5-3 defeat

Still in the United Kingdom, Patson Daka started for Gary Rowett in an encounter against Stoke City, playing under his 10th different manager since joining Leicester City.

In Germany, coming on as a second-half substitute, Lubambo Musonda was guilty of giving away a goal after a failed back pass in 1. FC Magdeburg’s 5-3 loss to Schalke 04. Elsewhere, Lameck Banda played for 30 minutes in US Lecce’s 2-0 defeat against Inter, while Joseph Liteta remained on the bench as Cagliari Calcio drew 0-0 with SS Lazio.

Enock Sakala nets first goal in the UAE, Lahne makes first league start of 2026

For the first time since joining Gulf United earlier this month, Enock Sakala Jr. scored a goal, notching Gulf United B’s only goal as they lost 2-1 to Baynounah in the UAE Second Division. His compatriot, Emmanuel Mutale, started for the first team in the UAE First Division a day earlier.

Benson Sakala Jr. put in an impressive 90-minute shift for Bohemians Praha, who downed Dukla Praha 1-0. In Denmark, for the second successive match, Edward Chilufya was only brought on after Midtjylland had already scored four goals, making a 15-minute cameo.

Austria Lustenau resumed their league campaign on Friday with Jack Lahne starting his first official match of 2026. Meanwhile, in the top flight, Kingstone Mutandwa played the first 69 minutes of SV Ried’s 1-1 stalemate vs. WSG Tirol.

Frankie’s Bahrain FC concede seven goals; Nsabata bags cleansheet in South Africa

Bahrain FC shipped seven goals against Al Muharraq in the Bahraini topflight as Frankie Musonda endured the 90 minutes. In Scotland, Chanka Zimba played roughly one hour in a 1-1 draw between Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Stenhousemuir.

Songa Chipyoka clocked nearly 70 minutes for Hapoel Petah Tikva against Maccabi Haifa while Emmanuel Banda featured off the bench in the 70th minute for Maccabi Bney Reine vs. Ironi Tiberias. In the second tier, Kennedy Musonda participated in Hapoel Nof HaGalil’s 2-2 draw with Hapoel Hadera.

On the African continent, Toaster Nsabata kept a clean sheet for Sekhukhune United as they progressed in the Nedbank Cup, Clatous Chama started for Simba SC in Tanzania, while Obino Chisala featured for Al Merrikh in Rwanda.

Rodrick Kabwe started for Al Ramadi in Iraq, while Jadel Katongo remained on the bench as Kayserispor made it four points from their last two games. In Spain, Peter Chikola and Aaron Mbemba Phiri were late substitutes for Linares Deportivo and Cadiz B, respectively.
