The Super Falcons are at loggerheads with Nigeria’s Football Federation (NFF) over outstanding payments.
Coach Randy Waldrum said he was also owed seven months’ wages. He revealed that some of his players had not been paid in two years according to Reuters.
However, the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPRO) has said it’s currently assisting the players with their pursuit of bonuses, camp allowances, and other expenses dating back to 2021.
“FIFPRO can confirm it is assisting players in a disagreement with the Nigeria Football Federation concerning bonus payments, camp allowances, and expenses, some of which date back to 2021,” it said in a statement.
The Super Falcons finished their World Cup campaign in the knockout stage. That came after losing 4-2 in a penalty shootout following a 0-0 draw in normal playing time against England.
“The team is extremely frustrated that they have had to pursue the Nigeria Football Federation for these payments before and during the tournament and may have to continue doing so afterwards,” FIFPRO added.
“It is regrettable that players needed to challenge their own federation at such an important time in their careers.
“FIFPRO will continue to work with the players to ensure their contractual rights are honoured and the outstanding payments are settled.”

Meanwhile, some Super Eagles stars have joined the calls on the federation to settle owed allowances.
Napoli forward Victor Osimhen is among the players who has demanded NFF to pay the Super Falcons.
“Pay them NFF,” wrote Osimhen in response to a post by Asisat Oshoala on Instagram.
