While the England Women’s National Team, like Banyana Banyana, has been frustrated by their Football Associations over performance-related bonuses at the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup, FAZ has assured the Copper Queens that they will receive all of the funds to which they are entitled.
After talks on performance-related bonuses fell through, players in England were reportedly disappointed and frustrated with their Football Association.
It was understood that the English players will not be paid performance-related bonuses for the World Cup, and the players believe the FA is using the introduction of individual fees being set by Fifa as an excuse to avoid doing so for their work at the tournament, reported the Guardian.
In South Africa, the Banyana Banyana claimed that their contracts did not include the mandatory $30,000 individual participation fees from FIFA. The players were forced to boycott a send-off match against Botswana on Sunday.
The situation appeared to be resolved on Wednesday, just before the team’s departure for New Zealand, with the Mosespe Foundation pledging funds for the players.

In addition to the Fifa fee, the South African Football Players Union announced that each player will also receive 230,000 rands ($12,053.43).
Why the promised $5,000 winning bonuses for the Copper Queens is not yet guaranteed
Bolanews understands that, according to a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between FAZ and the government, Copper Queens will receive $3,000 in winning bonuses in addition to the Fifa individual participation fee.
However, Minister of Sports Elvis Nkandu on Thursday stated to Crown TV that his office held a meeting with FAZ to finalize the discussions on the increase of the winning bonuses to $5,000.
The government has promised to increase the bonuses to match those of the men’s national team, but a new MoU to guarantee the promise has yet to be signed by publication time.
