Following a brief stint with ZISD FC in the Eden University Women’s Super League during the 2024–25 season, Zimbabwean international coach Lazarus Magaya told BolaNews that he is considering two coaching offers from Zambia on his radar.
Magaya led ZISD FC to relegation survival and returned to his native, Zimbabwe after his time in Lusaka.
The seasoned coach, who has coached in South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, and now Zambia, says he would be willing to return to Zambia if the proper offer presented itself.
“Zambia was quite favorable for me, both professionally and personally,” Magaya told BolaNews in an exclusive interview. “I have two offers on the table right now from Zambian clubs. I’m seriously considering them. If the opportunity aligns with my ambitions, I’m more than ready to come back.”
Though his time at ZISD FC was brief, Magaya describes it as immensely enriching.
“I learnt how to utilize available resources more efficiently. The league teaches you to think on your feet—adapting to different player strengths and being mindful of the cultural context,” said Magaya.
He also praised the competitiveness of the Zambian league, pointing out that it stands out in the region due to its fast-paced style and focus on nurturing local talent.

“Zambian football moves at a very high tempo , the league Is very competitive compared to other countries. I was more impressed with the real trust in local players, and that gives the league a strong identity.”
Despite returning to Harare, Magaya insists he has unfinished business at ZISD FC.
“We made headway. I believe we started building something that could grow into a solid footballing structure. If the opportunity arose, I’d be very open to returning to ZISD and seeing that project through.”
