Chitundu Reveals Zesco Ndola Girls Target At The COSAFA Women’s Cup

Avell Chitundu, leading the team, expressed optimism ahead of the competition, stressing the importance of respecting every opponent.

Zesco Ndola Girls midfielder Avell Chitundu says the Zambian champions will give their best at the upcoming COSAFA | CAF Women’s Champions League, which kicks tomorrow in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Group A has Zesco Ndola Girls alongside Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, Malawi’s Ntopwa FC, and Namibian champions Beauties FC.

Zesco Ndola will open their account on Friday with a clash against Beauties FC at 12:00 CAT.

Chitundu, who is leading the team, expressed optimism ahead of the competition, stressing the importance of respecting every opponent.

“It’s a great honor to lead the team to this tournament. Our target is to give our best so that we come out with good results in all the games. For every team to be here, it means they are strong and will give us competition. That’s why I won’t choose any team to fear or underestimate—we will take each game as it comes,” she said.

She called on Zambian fans to rally behind the team throughout the tournament.

“We will give the Zambian people results that will make them happy. Their support means a lot to the team and everyone,” Chitundu added.

Zesco Ndola Girls will be aiming for a strong start in order to advance to the knockout stages of the regional competition.
