Zambia National Service Commander Lieutenant General Maliti Solochi has challenged MTN – FAZ super league side, Green Eagles FC to deliver a strong performance without any excuses.
Last season, the Choma based side finished in sixth place.
Green Eagles begin the new campaign with an away fixture against Mighty Mufulira Wanderers.
Widely known as the Tonka Twende, Eagles had their pre-season training in South Africa to fine-tune ahead of the transitional league.
However, the team’s performance and achievement of their set goals and objectives are crucial due to the significant investment made.
Speaking when the team paid a courtesy call on Commander Maliti Solochi, he reminded the team to remain focused.
“You should remain focused and approach every game with the determination to win,” he said.
“Command has done its part and fulfilled your requests. It’s now up to you to do the rest. We expect you to pay us back in kind through winning,” added the Commander.
He warned that substandard performance may affect future resource allocation.
“Poor performance may affect the level of support extended to the team. The ZNS command and the kit sponsor expect you, the players, to reciprocate the investment made in you by reciprocating the investment made in you through delivering positive results,” he noted.
“The upcoming season will be competitive and requires players to make a strong start by securing wins in opening matches and avoid unnecessary loss of points,” he emphasized.
