Nowela Mwanza, was the first player to score a hattrick in the Zambian Premier league Women’s super division Southern zone during week one fixtures.
In that match, Konkola Blades Queens demolished Amazing Grace 5-2 at Konkola Blades stadium.
Mwanza scored all her goals in the second half in the 71st, 74th, and 90th minutes.
Mwanza, a former Chipata Girls FC player tells Bolanews that she aims to score more goals in the season.
The win placed Konkola Blades on top of the log with a better goal difference compared to second-placed Indeni Roses FC.
With three goals in the opening match, she equalized her goal tally from last season in as many matches.
Reacting to her achievement, she attributed the goals to teamwork.
She said the goals have motivated her to work hard and score more goals.
“We started on a low note, but we picked up in the second half. We worked as a team to get three points in the opening match,” she said.

“I feel happy to score a hat trick, as I did not anticipate I would get a hat trick in the opening match. It has motivated more to work hard in the coming matches. My target is to score more goals this season.”
On Wednesday, Mwanza was not on the score sheet when Konkola Blades came a two goals down to register a 2 all draw against Indeni Roses.
