Copper Queens midfielder Evarine Katongo has completed a move to Israeli club Ra’anana Women’s Football Club from Green Buffaloes.

The 23-year-old joined the Israeli side for an undisclosed fee and contract length and was officially unveiled on Tuesday.

“Ra’anana Women’s Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Evarine Susan Katongo to the team,” the club confirmed.

Katongo is a key figure for the Copper Queens, boasting 26 caps for the senior national team, including 18 starts. She has also been instrumental for Green Buffaloes Women, the club holding the record for the most Zambian Women’s Super League titles.

The midfielder featured in Zambia’s 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign and represented her country at the last two Olympic Games. She was also part of the Copper Queens squad that won their first-ever bronze medal at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The move marks Katongo’s first professional stint outside Zambia, where she will look to continue her development and make an impact in Israeli football.
