Before the injury, Lameck Banda, the US Lecce winger has been in fine form this season and was part of the squad that drew 1-1 at Monza last weekend. He has featured in four Serie A matches providing two assists.

Banda, 22 missed Thursday’s Serie A match against Genoa due to an injury announced by his Italian Club.

However, speaking exclusively to Bolanews, Banda said the injury he sustained will keep him out of action for a few weeks.

“It was not something bad, it was a hamstring injury, but I think I will be out maybe for three weeks or two weeks, but it’s not something serious, “Banda said.

On the other hand, the Club also posted on their social media page that efforts are being made to ensure the player gets back to the pitch as soon as possible.

“He has trained separately with an athletic trainer, and we are trying to get him to improve his physical condition as best as possible. He doesn’t have much playing time and we need to avoid injuries,” the club statement read.

US Lecce are currently third placed in League standings with 11 points and still remain unbeaten winning three and drawing two games.
