Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy became the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to reach 10 goals this season.
The VfB Stuttgart striker has scored an incredible 10 league goals in just five Bundesliga games.
He scored his ninth and tenth league goals in Friday’s 3-1 victory over Darmstadt VfB Stuttgart. Enzo Millot, a teammate of Guirassy’s, scored the equalizer for the hosts to erase Darmstadt’s opening advantage.
Ten minutes later, the Guinean struck an incredible goal into the top corner to give the home team a 2-1 lead late in the second half.
He surpasses the duo of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, each with seven goals this season. As a result, the player for VfB Stuttgart has taken the early lead in the 2023–24 European Golden Boot tournament.
After an outstanding loan season with the German club last year, where he scored 11 league goals in 20 starts, VfB Stuttgart paid French team Rennes €9 million to sign the striker permanently.
VfB Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeneß expressed how excited he was to have such a prolific goal scorer in his ranks. “We’re on a roll right now! Upfront, we’ve got a striker in Serhou who’s putting everything away.”
