Ernest Kofi, who managed the Conquerors as an interim manager, has been promoted as head coach by the Trident football club.
In the interim, Kofi, who holds a UEFA B coaching license, has been coaching since week 25 of the 10 games in the Zambian Super League.
During the 2023-24 season in the topflight league, the Ghanaian managed 𝟑 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐬, 𝟒 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟑 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬.
At Shinde and Konkola Stadium, Trident defeated Mufulira Wanderers and Konkola Blades FC in back-to-back away victories under Kofi’s guidance.
He also recorded a 4:1 home victory against Green Eagles and a draw against Power Dynamos.
Kofi has agreed to a one-year contract, with the possibility of a further one-year extension on Trident’s based on performance.
“We are happy to have concluded the contract signing with Coach Kofi. The Executive Committee has complete trust in him, and we wish him success this season.” Trident FC CEO, Mr. Man’gulenje Mvula said.
Kofi has the task to guide Trident to qualify for the ABSA Cup and return to the Zambian Super League.

In the first week of 2024–2025 season, Trident will play Chambishi FC, and in week six, there will be a FQM Derby between Trident and Kansanshi Dynamos Football Club.
