After a 3-0 win over Sevilla on Sunday night, Barcelona extended their lead at the top of the La Liga table to eight points.
Jordi Alba, Gavi, and Raphinha scored in the second half to secure a massive victory for the Spanish giants.
The Catalans took advantage of Real Madrid’s 1-0 loss to Real Mallorca earlier in the day to extend their lead to 53 points.
Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez stated that he will not allow complacency to creep in and urged his players to keep fighting.
Xavi also stressed that he is not ruling out their bitter rivals, Real Madrid, who are second in the standings with 45 points, from the title race, as they are still favorites.
“They (Real Madrid) are still the favorites because they are the reigning La Liga Champions and also in the UEFA Champions League.
“I know that Real Madrid will keep competing until the end. “There have been historic comebacks; we can’t let that happen,” Xavi warned.

Barcelona have only allowed seven goals in La Liga this season, and Sunday’s win also saw them keep their 15th clean sheet of the season in 20 matches.
The Catalans last won the league in the 2018/19 season and will be looking to win it for the 27th time this season.
