Zambia has been drawn in Group H for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Men’s World Cup, where they will face Brazil, Honduras, and Indonesia.

The draw was conducted on Sunday in Doha, Qatar, confirming the twelve groups for the inaugural 48-team edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, scheduled to take place from 3 to 27 November 2025.

This marks a historic moment for Zambia, as the Young Chipolopolo have qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup for the first time in the nation’s history.

Zambia secured their maiden qualification with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Uganda at the 2025 CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, advancing to the quarterfinals of the tournament. The competition served as the African qualifying event for the World Cup.

Although Zambia was later eliminated by Burkina Faso in the quarterfinals, their World Cup berth had already been sealed by reaching that stage.

Ian Bakala, who coached the team through the qualifying campaign and is currently head coach of Zimbabwean club CAPS United, is expected to begin preparations for the World Cup—pending confirmation of his continued role with the national U-17 team.
