The French youngster got on the nerves of millions of Argentinians as he delayed their third World Cup triumph with his hat-trick for France, which forced the Qatar 2022 World Cup to be decided on post-match penalty shootouts.

Mbappe was unquestionably the star performer for the French team that lost to Argentina 4-2 in shootouts after a thrilling 3-3 tie.

The former World Cup champion became the youngest player to score in back-to-back World Cup finals since Pelé in 1958.
