AS Roma qualified for the Europa League final match after overcoming Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 on aggregate as they will be seeking to win their second European trophy in a row.
The second semifinal leg ended in a 0-0 draw and saw Roma advance to the final via a 1-0 aggregate score after they won the first leg of the semifinal on home soil. Roma will be looking for a back-to-back European triumph after winning last season’s Europa Conference League title.
On the other hand, If Roma wins the Europa League title, they could stand a chance to qualify for next season’s champions league.
Roma will now face Sevilla who qualified by eliminating Juventus with a 2-1 victory in the final slated for May 31 at Puskas Arena, Budapest.
Reacting to the result AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho told the media he was impressed with the team’s performance, but anticipates a tough game against Sevilla.
“It’s an unbelievable team, I don’t know if I can ask for more from the team, but these guys deserve something special.

“My concern was going to the final. Sevilla is a very strong team and has great experience. Then we will think about it, now we think about the Italian League,” he said.
José Mourinho will have a chance to claim a sixth European trophy, although to achieve that his Roma team will have to stop Sevilla from winning a record-extending seventh Europa League title.
