Mwepu heads to Liverpool

Zambian midfielder Enock Mwepu will return to Anfield this Saturday with his Brighton and Hove Albion FC side that will seek to maintain their fine form with their new coach Roberto De Zerbi who was appointed before the international break after Graham Potter left for Chelsea FC.

Last season the Zambian scored a sublime goal for Albion from a long ranger at Anfield and he will hope to replicate the same this Saturday when Liverpool returns to action with a home game against Brighton.

Bringing Enock Mwepu’s goal back to the timeline. Not for any other reason, other than the fact I don’t think it’s had the recognition it deserves. If Ronaldo scored this, you’d never see the end of it. What a hit. 🚀 pic.twitter.com/nCXPpsweE7

Despite missing Zambia’s friendly match against Mali during the break, Mwepu who has been sick and only recovered last weekend will hope to get game time under his new coach and play against his dream club, Liverpool.

Meanwhile, the Reds will be hoping to win again following their 2-1 champions league victory over Ajax in a game which saw goals from the African trio of Mohammed Salah, Joel Matip for Liverpool and Mohammed Kudus’s solitary goal for Ajax.

On the other hand, Brighton are coming from a 5-2 impressive victory in their last outing against Leicester City which took them in fourth position on the log standings, four steps above their opponents this Sunday.

Brighton’s last Premier League match against the foxes was their highest-scoring match so far this season which saw their midfielder Moises Caicedo and Leandro Trossard finding the back of the net as well as Alexis mac Allister who netted his first brace of the season and an own goal by Luke Thomas with Leicester’s goals by Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho, all in vain.

Brighton who had two of their Premier League matches against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace have only conceded 4 goals in their last 6 outings but managed to find the back of net 12 times.

Since 2019, Brighton have won only one match drawn twice from their last five meetings with Liverpool in matches that recorded a total of 16 goals between two with 10 goals for the Reds and 6 coming from Brighton.
