Golden Mashata, a midfielder for MTN – FAZ super league side, Green Buffaloes is ready to make a strong start to the upcoming 2026 transitional league.
At the end of the 2025-26 season, Buffaloes finished 12th-place and the army outfit is eager to bounce back stronger.
During that campaign, Mashata’s performance failed to satisfy the hopes of the team’s supporters.
Speaking to Bolanews exclusively, Mashata said he is ready for the new season.
“I am looking forward to experiencing a good campaign with the team after going through a rough patch last season. We want to put up a strong fight this time around,” he said.
Looking ahead, Mashata is prepared to redeem himself.
“I am grateful to the fans for they have been with me in good and bad times, and may they continue believing and supporting me. They should expect outstanding performance from me,” promised Mashata.
On Sunday 4th October, Green Buffaloes kicked off the new season with a 2- nil over super league debutant Chirundu United at Sunset Stadium. Mashata featured but did not manage to score.
