Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca is unsure about Zambian striker Patson Daka’s future at the club ahead of the January transfer window.

Daka’s attempts to join AFC Bournemouth and AC Milan in the previous transfer window fell through on deadline day, and it appears he may want to move on in January due to a lack of game time at Leicester City.

The Chipolopolo striker started his first match under Maresca on Saturday in the English Championship, scoring and assisting as his side thrashed Plymouth 4-0, a performance that earned him a place in the team of the week.

Before Saturday, he only made two cameo appearances from the bench for Leicester City.

The 25-year-old striker said, “I just have to keep on working hard ….. And we will see what happens as we go on.”

Maresca is also unsure if the former Red Bull Salzburg striker will stay in January but has confidently stated that he remains one of his players.

“I swear, serious. Patson [Daka] is one of our players. We are happy. If he is not happy and wants to leave, we’ll see. Now it’s about Wednesday.”

Maresca also said City will need to sell players if they are to make new signings in January.

Meanwhile, Leicester City will face Millwall on Wednesday in the Championship as they look to extend their lead in the standings.

Daka is expected to be part of the squad again, as Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy are likely to be unavailable, according to Maresca.
