Zambia has been drawn in Group B alongside 2022 semi-finalists Angola, Namibia, and Madagascar for the TotalEnergies U20 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) 2025 | COSAFA Qualifiers, which will take place in Maputo, Mozambique, from September 26 to October 5.
The qualifying tournament, which was won by Zambia in 2022, will feature 12 teams competing for the regional trophy, with two finalists earning spots at the youth Afcon.
Hosts Mozambique, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, and Botswana comprise Group A, while South Africa, Malawi, the Comoros, and Lesotho are in Group C.
The group games will take place between September 26 and October 1, with the semifinals following two days later. The final will be held on October 5, and there will be no third-place playoff.
Zambia has won the COSAFA U20 Championship a record 12 times, followed by South Africa with eight, Zimbabwe with six, Madagascar, and Mozambique with one each.
