Botswana vs Comoros at the 2025 COSAFA tournament in South Africa | BFA.

As Botswana prepares to play Zambia in Group D of the 2025 COSAFA Cup tomorrow, head coach Morena Ramoreboli has shared his strategy.

The Zebras played to a goalless draw in their first match against Comoros and will need a win over Zambia to stand a chance of progressing to the semifinals.

Already eliminated Chipolopolo Boys, have no chance of progressing to the next round following their 1-0 defeat to Comoros last Friday.

Ramoreboli notes that there is no need to be reluctant, adding that the stakes are high, knowing that Zambia will also be looking at bowing out on a strong note.

“So, the most important thing about the match is to say that as much as mathematically they don’t have a chance, it’s for us to prepare psychologically, prepare tactically, and try our level best to be ready for the match,” he stated.

Bestone Chambeshi Regrets Missed Target.

“Obviously the stakes are high for us to get positive results. I believe that we shouldn’t think of how many points they have and what would happen if we won the match. Can we try our level best to get a positive result?” And I believe that so far, we have at least a few things to work on, which I think they can give us something.”

Beston Chambeshi, the assistant coach for Chipolopolo, who will oversee the game in Wedson Nyirenda’s absence, says it hurts to lose a competition in the group stage.

“It’s painful because the mission we came for hasn’t been fulfilled, which is not healthy for the team or even for our nation. Especially to our supporters. I think we make sure we go there and do the job tomorrow against Botswana; we need to, and we have to finish on a good note,” Chambeshi said.

At 18:00 CAT, Zambia, the record-holding COSAFA champions, will play Botswana in a dead-rubber encounter.
