Zambian U-17 midfielder Vincent Mutondo is set to attend trials at Spanish La Liga 2 side Albacete Balompié after being scouted at the Rising Stars Football Academy in South Africa.

Rising Stars confirmed the development, revealing that it has established a pathway with Spanish clubs to give its players exposure in Europe.

“Albacete Balompié, who play in La Liga 2, and CD Tenerife, league leaders in the 1st RFEF, have confirmed a pathway for us to send players to their clubs in Spain,” Rising Stars Football Center announced.

Mutondo plays as a box-to-box midfielder but is also capable of playing in a more defensive role or contributing offensively.

Sources close to the player have confirmed to Footy Africa that Mutondo will travel to Spain in January, where he could earn a professional deal.

“The Spanish club is very interested. They have watched him play and will host him for trials at their club in January. From there, anything can happen. He could be offered a professional contract,” the source said.

Mutondo, who missed the Qatar 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup due to injury, has previously had trials with several European clubs, including Anderlecht, RB Salzburg, and CD Tenerife. He will be hoping to secure his first professional contract in Spain.
