Lameck Banda stole the headlines at the weekend with his 90th-minute free-kick goal that secured maximum points for US Lecce vs. Udinese. With three top-flight goals this season, the flamboyant winger is having his best scoring campaign in the Italian Serie A.

In Scotland, the first two goals of Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s 3-0 victory over East Fife were assisted by Chanka Zimba. His tally for the season now stands at 15 goals and four assists in 30 matches across all competitions for the Scottish League One leaders.

Chipyoka makes assist amidst goal drought; Daka with first Championship start this year

Songa Chipyoka, who has now gone six matches without a goal, set up Márk Koszta’s 59th-minute winner vs Bnei Sakhnin in the Ligat Ha’Al. In other news, Lubambo Musonda played the first hour of a nine-goal thriller between 1. FC Magdeburg and Furth.

Meanwhile, Patson Daka and Leicester City can’t seem to catch a break in the Championship, as a red card condemned them to a 2-1 defeat against Birmingham City. The Chipolopolo striker clocked 77 minutes in his first league start of 2026. In the Czech Republic, Benson Sakala was an unused substitute in Bohemian Praha’s 2-1 defeat to FK Partubice.

Ex-Atletico Lusaka FC striker Benjamin Chisala scored a goal for Estonian side Nomme United vs Kuressaare in a club friendly after appearing as a second-half substitute.  Kingstone Mutandwa lasted 59 minutes as SV Ried fell 1-0 to SK Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Chama and Simba SC endure CAF Champions League exit, Pascal features for high-flying Pyramids

Clatous Chama played the full 90 minutes for a winless Simba SC, who settled for a 1-1 stalemate at Petro de Luanda. Elsewhere, Pascal Phiri featured on the bench for Pyramids, watching their 4-1 battering of Rivers United in the CAF Champions League.

Jack Lahne came off the bench for Austria Lustenau in their 2-1 loss to German outfit FV Illertissen in a club friendly. In Rwanda, Obino Chisala made the starting XI for Sudanese giants Al Merrikh in a 1-1 draw with Marine FC.

Toaster Nsabata started on the bench as Sekhukhune United progressed in the Nedbank Cup while Ghampani Lungu‘s shootout penalty kick was not enough for Siwelele FC to make it to the next round.
