Zambian players abroad weekend wrap| Kampamba shines, Sakala sets record

Kampamba set up two goals for Al Madina SC as a substitute, leading them to a 2-0 victory over Al Dahra.

Frankie Musonda made his first appearance of the year for Ayr United, coming on as a 74th-minute substitute in their 4-1 win against Airdrieonians on Sunday. The defensive kingpin, who has featured on the bench for the past few weeks, got his first minutes since early December.

In Libya, Kelvin Kampamba set up two goals for Al Madina SC as a substitute, leading them to a 2-0 victory over Al Dahra. A picture-perfect delivery from a corner and an exquisite throughball from the playmaker created two late goals for the Tripoli-based outfit.

Enock Sakala debuts in South Africa, Lubambo Musonda gets first start of 2025

Former ZESCO United ace Enock Sakala Jr. made his debut in the South African Premiership, taking to the field in the 62nd minute for Chippa United. He joined the Chilli Boys after parting ways with Egyptian topflight side Modern Sport.

Elsewhere, Lubambo Musonda made his first start since October, lasting an hour in 1.FC Magdeburg’s 4-1 thrashing of Darmstadt. Meanwhile, US Lecce did not rush Lameck Banda‘s return to the pitch, keeping him on the bench in their 1-0 loss to Fiorentina.

Sabobo starts, Chaiwa out sick, Ricky Chanda debuts in Estonia

Joseph Sabobo Banda was in FC Zurich U21’s starting XI during their 1-1 draw with Bulle in the Promotion League. Meanwhile, Miguel Chaiwa has missed BSC Young Boys last two outings due to an illness.

Emmanuel Banda played a full match as Al Tai fell 1-0 to Al Faisaly in the Saudi First Division on Sunday. In Estonia, Ricky Chanda celebrated a win on his first start for Nomme United, who recently got relegated to the second tier.

Fashion Sakala became the first player to complete 10 dribbles in a 2024-25 Saudi Pro League match during a goalless stalemate between Al Fayha and Al Wehda. In Denmark, Edward Chilufya was an unused substitute for Midtjylland.

Liteta undroppable in Italy, Gamphani plays 90 minutes in South Africa.

Joseph Liteta is becoming an instrumental player for Cagliari U20, playing the full 90 minutes in five successive matches. In South Africa, Ghampani Lungu played the entire match for Supersport United against Magesi FC.

Clatous Chama and Kennedy Musonda were late substitutes for Young Africans SC in their 3-0 victory over Pamba. Meanwhile, Joshua Mutale emerged off the bench for Simba SC against Coastal Union.

Mafwenta starts, Mutandwa and Mwepu out

Golden Mafwenta was in Metalist 1925’s starting lineup in a club friendly on Saturday while Gift Mphande started on the bench for Hapoel Rishon Lezion, who massacred Ramat HaSharon 6-1.

Benson Sakala, Francisco Mwepu, and Kingstone Mutandwa were not in the matchday squads for Mlada Boleslav, Cadiz CF, and Cagliari Calcio, respectively.
