Zambian players abroad weekend wrap| Chilufya assists, Daka starts, Lubambo injured again

Chilufya contributed an assist, Daka started against Manchester United, while Chipolopolo captain Lubambo Musonda is injured again.

In Midtjylland’s 4-2 win over Randers, Edward Chilufya provided an assist for Adam Buksa just eight minutes after coming on as a substitute. He has now directly contributed to 10 goals in all club competitions this season, scoring four and assisting six.

Meanwhile, Copper Queens star Kabange Mupopo opened her scoring account for Henan Wanxianshan, netting against Shaanxi Zhidan in the Chinese Women’s Super League.

Daka starts vs Man United, Barbra Banda chalks up brace and assist

Patson Daka played the first 64 minutes of Leicester City’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday. In the NWSL, Barbra Banda stole the headlines with two goals and an assist as Orlando Pride drubbed Chicago Red Stars 6-0.

Prisca Chilufya, a second half substitute, played in Banda for her opening goal while Grace Chanda was not in the matchday squad. Bay FC’s Racheal Kundananjicompleted 90 minutes against Utah Royals on Sunday morning.

Obino Chisala notches assist, Kings Kangwa bags POTS award

Obino Chisala set up a goal for Al Merreikh, who lost 2-1 to Chemal as Ricky Banda’s goal drought for the Sudanese outfit extended to seven games. Meanwhile, Kings Kangwadelivered a masterclass for Hapoel Be’er Sheva, who sank Maccabi Netanya 2-0 in the Ligat HaAl championship round. The playmaker was officially voted as the best player of the Israeli Premier League regular season.

Lameck Banda in action for Lecce in

Lameck Banda and Kingstone Mutandwa featured as second half substitutes for US Lecce and Cagliari Calcio, respectively.

Miguel Chaiwa played the full match for Young Boys II in the Swiss Promotion League while Fashion Sakala and Emmanuel Bandaearned starting berths in Saudi Arabia. In the Turkish women’s league, Lushomo Mweembaand Martha Tembo kept their 7th clean sheet in 17 league games for Hakkarigucu Spor.

Enock, Mwepu benched, Frankie makes appearance

Enock Sakala Jr. was an unused substitute for Chippa United in the South African topflight. In Spain, Francisco Mwepu did not take to the field for Cadiz despite featuring on the bench.

Elsewhere, Ayr United introduced Frankie Musonda from the bench in the 46th minute in the Scottish Championship. In Liga Leumit, Songa Chipyoka started for Hapoel Petah Tikva, who edged Hapoel Raanana 1-0. On the African continent, Kelvin Kampamba clocked 90 minutes for Libyan side Al Madina.

Lubambo injured again, Sabobo out of action

Chipolopolo skipper Lubambo Musonda did not feature at the weekend for 1.FC Magdeburg due to a muscle injury while Joseph Sabobo Banda was not in FC Zurich’s matchday squads.

In the Czech Republic, Benson Sakala was named on Mlada Boleslav’s bench on Saturday but did not play. Meanwhile, Joshua Mutale missed Simba SC’s 6-0 obliteration of Dodoma Jiji.

Evans Kangwa was unavailable for Abha in the Saudi First Division while Joseph Litetaand Mannah Chiwisa started for Cagliari U20 and Union Clodiense, respectively.
