Zambian players got a piece of the action in their respective leagues with outstanding performances.

Bolanews looks at how Zambian players fared abroad over the weekend.

FASHION SAKALA

Fashion Sakala’s perfect start to life in the Saudi Arabia Professional League continued after scoring in two successful games with an assist to his name. The former Kv Oostende wing wizard scored in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Al Hilal, helping his side sit in the fifth position on the log.

KINGS KANGWA

The Zambian midfielder has now created the most chances (11) in the Serbian SuperLiga.

Over the weekend, he scored his first goal of the season. He now has two assists and one goal in four matches.

LAMECK BANDA

Lameck Banda also played a key role in Leece’s 2-1 win over Lazio in the Italian Serie A, as his pace proved to be a thorn in the flesh for the defenders. However, the winger was stretchered off the pitch in the 77th minute due to injury.

EDWARD CHILUFYA

Edward Chilufya came on as a second-half substitute in Midtjylland’s 1-0 loss to Brondby. It was the team’s third league loss of the season, with only two wins from the five games played so far.

PATSON DAKA

On the other hand, Leicester City’s Patson Daka was absent for the second week in a row, as the player is reportedly set to leave the English Championship club.

KENNEDY MUSONDA

Kennedy Musonda scored in Young Africans’ 2-nil win over ASAS Football Club in the First Leg of the CAF Champions League in Djibouti as his side began their quest to go one step further than they did in the continental club competition last season.

MOSES PHIRI

Moses Phiri put in a strong performance for Simba SC in the Tanzanian Premier League. He scored a brace to help Simba record a 2-0 win over Dodoma Jiji. His goals propelled Simba to the top of the table with six points.
