Zambian midfielder Songa Chipyoka has been officially unveiled by Israel’s second division side, Hapoel Petah Tikva.

He joins the club on loan from Zambian Super League team Zesco United FC until the end of the season, with an option to buy.

Chipyoka spent last season with another relegated Israeli side, Sektzia Ness Ziona, where he scored nine goals and provided four assists. His impressive performance caught the attention of Hapoel Petah Tikva, who aim to bounce back to the Premier League after finishing second from the bottom and getting relegated last season.

“The current football club, ‘Mabne’ Petah-Tikva, is pleased to announce that winger Songa Chipyoka has signed with the club, having been loaned out for one season with an option to purchase at the end of the season,” the club wrote in their announcement.

Hapoel Petah Tikva has been proactive in returning to the top flight, signing Zambian international Kelvin Kapumbu last month, making Chipyoka the second Zambian to join the club this season.

Reacting to his move, the 19-year-old midfielder expressed his excitement and commitment to the team’s goals. “I’m excited to join a big club like Hapoel Petah Tikva,” said Chipyoka. “I aim to improve and progress this season and to help the team meet its goal of returning to the Premier League.”
