Zambian-born striker Jack Kalichi Lahne has joined SC Austria Lustenau from Norwegian side Egersund.

The 23-year-old, who was born in Zambia’s Chikankanta district to Zambian parents and later adopted by Swedish parents, has signed a contract with the Austrian club until the summer of 2026, with an option for another season.

The centre-forward began his football career in Scandinavia with IF Bromma before joining French club, Amiens SC for two million euros in the summer of 2019. He played one game in Ligue 1 and 25 games in Ligue 2.

Lahne played for Norwegian club Egersund until the end of last year. Before that, he gained valuable experience on loan with Ujpest FC (1st division Hungary), BK Häcken (1st division Sweden), and Botev Plovdiv (1st division Bulgaria).

He will now start a new chapter in Austria second tier.

“I’m happy to be here in Lustenau. I had good discussions with the club’s management and I can’t wait to get to know my new teammates. I want to develop further here, play as much as possible and celebrate success with the team on the pitch,” said Lahne.

Last year, Lahne told BolaNews that he hopes to play for Zambia’s Chipolopolo Boys. In response, coach Avram Grant revealed that he is one of the players he is watching and may consider in the future.

BolaNews also learnt that Grant and Lahne were in touch.

Lahne can play as a centre forward and on either wing. He represented Sweden’s youth national team 29 times and is still eligible to switch allegiance to Zambia.
