With the ongoing project by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to institute a defined playstyle for the Zambian national team, these talent factories are set to take centre stage in the coming years.

BolaNews reveals the list of Zambia’s most influential football academies over the last decade.

Shamuel Academy

Owned by 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON) winner Evans Kangwa, Shamuel Academy is one of the fastest-growing football institutions in Zambia. Equipped with modern gym facilities, a state-of-the-art playing field, and innovative training methods, the academy has brought to the fore Chipolopolo stars like Miguel Chaiwa and Songa Chipyoka.

Kingstone Mutandwa, Miguel Chaiwa, Joseph Sabobo Banda, Gift Mphande, Joseph Liteta, and Gift Siame, to mention but a few, have all represented the club.

Bauleni United Sports Academy (BUSA)

Before Barbra Banda became the record-breaking superstar who has dominated top competitions like the Summer Olympics, she was just a young girl dreaming big at BUSA. The academy has also produced Copper Queens stars like Hellen Mubanga, Esther Banda, Rhoda Chileshe, and Vast Phiri.

Kafue Celtic FC

For almost two decades, Kafue Celtic has been a breeding ground for football talents who have gone on to achieve remarkable success. From the era of Kennedy Mweene and Chisamba Lungu to the rise of Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu, the football academy has produced megastars. The Cadiz CF duo, Francisco Mwepu and Peter Chikola, also trace their roots back to this National Division One League side.
